TTX Generation

Since Kenth Öhlin decided to focus exclusively to design and develop excellence products, the ideas and the items manufactured by the Swedish Company have constantly been protagonist of the highest level of two and four wheels competitions, from Formula 1 to MotoGP, achieving the position of undisputed leader of suspension world, chosen by the best teams and riders all over the world.

Over 30 years of expertise in the hands of a 250 people staff, that still have the goal and mission to glue to asphalt and dirt the two and four wheels of cars, motorcycles, MTB, ATV, to constantly improve the performances during competitions but also to make the drive of amateurish riders more pleasant and safe. Last and brilliant intuition of the Swedish Company is the idea born on the circuits that since the first test conquered the support, approval and interest of the skilled test drivers. It's a total revolution compared to the traditional working scheme of suspension, related to the hydraulic circuit, meaning the path that the oil follows inside the fork and the shock absorber. The system used for 50 years by the Companies to manufacture motorcycle suspension all over the world, has been totally overthrown by Öhlins with a new interpretation that very soon has become the choice of the champions and the wish of motorcycle fans: the TTX (Twin Tube Technology) generation.

To better understand how the idea was born and which are the benefits of this new TTX system, we have to take a step back and see the reasons that pushed Öhlins to pursue this new philosophy. The biggest problem of the traditional shock absorber is represented by the high temperatures during action, which are the main reason of serious working issues of the traditional hydraulic absorbing system. With no chances to act on the working speed, Öhlins, after a detailed analysis, acted on the main reason that impacts the increase of temperature, due to the friction between the mechanical parts, the body with the shock absorber's piston, that reaches an average temperature of 10 bars with negative effects on the lubricant, as well because the working high speed brings the oil to high temperatures for a long time, warning it out and causing working issues of the shock absorber. Starting from these reasons, Öhlins was confident that to make a difference, a winning system had to be found, to bring a drastic improvement of all these benchmarks, and so the famous TTX system was born.
