Prima vittoria stagionale per il team Ten Kate,che attraverso il suo pilota Jonathan Rea ha vinto gara 2 della tappa di Misano del campionato del mondo Superbike. Cosa che acquista ancora più importanza se si considera che questo è avvenuto in concomitanza al passaggio del team alle sospensioni Ohlins seguite dai tecnici dell'Andreani Group.

Tutti sanno che il team ha cambiato le sospensioni e le abbiamo provate per la prima volta a Magny-Cours durante i test di lunedì scorso. Il team e i ragazzi dell'Andreani group hanno fatto un lavoro meraviglioso per permettermi di vincere la gara quindi questa vittoria e' speciale anche per tutti i ragazzi. Sono riuscito a trovare il mio ritmo giusto quando Michel non e' mai riuscito a allontanarsi da me. Volevo passare prima ma ho lasciato tutto all'ultimo giro. Con questa vittoria tocco il cielo con un dito!"

Misano Adriatico (RIMINI) 21 giugno 2009 – GARA 2 Nella seconda manche la situazione si è rovesciata rispetto alla Gara 1: Haga ha ritrovato se stesso ed è stato autore di una partenza perfetta e di una gara molto incisiva. Honda è riuscita a mettere a punto come si deve le nuove sospensioni Ohlins, fornite dalla Andreani Group, e Jonathan Rea del team Ten Kate con la moto in ordine ha potuto conquistare in modo deciso la sua prima vittoria nel campionato Superbike di quest’anno. Dietro a Rea si è piazzato Michel Fabrizio, autore di una splendida gara, che in molte occasioni ha dato del filo da torcere al compagno di squadra giapponese, il quale si è dovuto accontentare della terza posizione.Comunque meglio di quanto Haga non avesse fatto nella precedente manche, raccogliendo commenti molto duri da parte del direttore tecnico della Ducati Xerox, Davide Tardozzi. Tuttavia sembra che le parole forti di Tardozzi siano servite a far risvegliare Nitronori, che, nel corso del tredicesimo giro, ha realizzato il nuovo record in gara della pista con un 1’37”1. Per il vero colpo di scena non si è dovuto attendere molto, perché al secondo passaggio dal via Ben Spies ha cominciato a rallentare in modo deciso ed è stato passato da quasi tutti gli altri piloti. L’americano ha avuto un problema tecnico che lo ha costretto a rientrare ai box per cambiare la moto. Dopo poco dal suo rientro Ben era in quattordicesima posizione, ma non ha comunque desistito e si è fatto sotto riuscendo a raggiungere Max Biaggi (Aprilia RSV4) e strappando al romano la nona posizione. Biaggi, a sua volta era riuscito a guadagnare il non posto dopo un duro faccia a faccia con Kyonari (Suzuki). Va segnalata la quarta posizione di Jacub Smrz (Ducati clienti): il pilota nei primi giri ha fatto una gran bella gara ed era in lotta per la testa, ma poi ha rovinato tutto all’ottavo giro, quando è arrivato lungo nell’inserimento di una curva e ha seminato millesimi preziosi perdendo il contatto con Rea, Haga e Fabrizio, i tre piloti del gruppo di testa. Per il resto tutta l’azione della la gara si è giocata in quattro grandi sorpassi: al nono giro Michel Fabrizio era in seconda posizione e Haga lo ha affrontato duramente senza avere successo. Il giapponese si è rifatto all’undicesimo giro, quando si è inserito sul compagno di squadra guadagnando il posto numero due della fila, ma Miachel non ci è stato ed è tornato all'attacco al quindicesimo giro, riprendendosi la seconda piazza. Poi l’italiano ha voluto di più e al 19esimo giro è andato ad insidiare Jonathan Rea strappandogli la testa della corsa. Ma anche Rea ha saputo reagire e all’ultimo giro ha spinto al massimo, riuscendo a guadagnare nuovamente il piazzamento della vittoria, che ha difeso sino al traguardo.

Gara 2 riserva un'emozionante battaglia fino all'ultima curva tra Jonathan Rea, Michel Fabrizio e Noriyuki Haga. La spunta il britannico di casa Honda Ten Kate sigillando il suo primo successo nel Mondiale SBK con una manche superba.

Un ringraziamento speciale della Honda va diretto alla Andreani Group per la fornitura ed il grande lavoro sulle sospensioni Ohlins. Viene nominato in diretta durante l'analisi del dopo gara il Sig. Giuseppe Andreani che Motomondiale ITALIA (nella persona di Dario Massi) ha avuto il piacere di conoscere nel suo regno a Pesaro lungo la Strada della Romagna. Bellissimo stabilimento guidato da una persona fantastica, un onore ed un orgoglio made in Italy.
Passo falso per lo statunitense Ben Spies che a causa di un problema tecnico sulla sua Yamaha è costretto a lasciare il gas chiuso, concluderà 9°.
Jakub Smrz conquista un altro 4° posto davanti allo spagnolo Carlos Checa e al britannico della Ducati Shane Byrne. 10° posto per il romano Max Biaggi con un'Aprilia RSV4 Factory che non vuole digerire l'asfalto di Misano Adriatico.

Following a test at Magny Cours on Tuesday, the Ten Kate Honda team of Jonathan Rea and Carlos Checa will use Ohlins Andreani suspension at Misano this weekend starting with the opening Free Practice at Misano today.Their decision to switch from WP, who they have won seven WSS titles and two WSB crowns with has rocked the paddock as significant hardware changes mid season are virtually unheard of in modern racing.The team plan to back to back the WP with the Ohlins today before confirming a direction for the weekend. Speaking exclusively to MCN, Team boss Ronald Ten Kate said:“We tested Kayaba suspension at the start of the year and we made a decision that we were going to do one other test with another manufacturer before the end of the season. At Magny Cours we tested Ohlins and that gave us a lot of positives. “I think that where we are in the championship right now it’s clear that winning races is not realistic. Rea hails Ten Kate for front row start

Jonathan Rea has thanked the Ten Kate Honda team for retaining their ‘belief’ in him after claiming a career-best second position on the grid for the latest round of the World Superbike Championship at Misano. Rea missed out on a maiden pole position by just two tenths of a second following an immensely successful Superpole that had him top both knockout phases before losing out to Jakub Smrz at the crucial moment. Nonetheless, on the weekend that Ten Kate Honda have chosen the ‘difficult path’ in defecting to Ohlins suspension for the first time, Rea was thrilled with his continued trajectory into the upper echelons on the WSBK order.
“I can’t thank the crew enough for working so hard this week. We got some new hardware to try at Magny-Cours and it’s been a bit of a rush to get everything together. In the last couple of sessions we managed to find some times and that’s given us a good starting position, which is what we needed and were aiming for.
“I want to thank the Ten Kate team for the belief they’ve had in me over the last few races – we’re really moving forward now and it’s a real buzz.
Looking ahead to the races, Rea is confident there is plenty more to come from the new suspension.
“We’re not anywhere near the limit with the new suspension yet and there’s still a lot more we can do. So I’m really looking forward to tomorrow and just hope it’s dry to give all the fans some really good races.”
Team manager Ronald ten Kate was also full of praise for the Northern Irishman, particularly given the decision to switch suspension suppliers.
"As anyone can understand, we chose a very difficult path for this weekend in Misano. But already, at this early stage, we can definitely say that we’ve made a step forward. A lot of credit has to go to Andreani Group for making our transition to Ohlins so smooth.
"For sure, we still have a long night ahead of us because we’re still at the very early stages of machine set-up, but it’s good to have both Hannspree riders in the front two rows and to have them in such good shape for tomorrow’s races."
